Gamer (2009)

So guys, just got finished watching Gamer

LOVED IT, from the trailers I thought it would be a really bad film, mainly because the whole idea, people controlling people...but after watching it and getting to know the plot a whole lot more, it actually makes a ton of sense!

Basically Ken Castle (Michael C.Hall) created his own empire, his own lifestyle...his own universe's! - One called "Society" the other called "Slayers"...and people pay a subscribtion depending on which one they want to play.

Society, is like a real life sims, but without barriers, players log on, take control of real life people (the public can either, pay to be a user...or an avatar) and get involved in all sorts of behaviour...most of which is sexual. I mean honestly how many people who play Sims havn't thought "man, they should make a porn one"

Slayers, is every FPS fans dream, being able to control you're own player, even down to walking, crouching, firing, doing silly movements, that would be my personal dream. (Slayers are DeathRow inmates who got given an ultimatum, either Play the Game, and win freedom...or dont)

Ken Castle has built his "empire" out of pure entetainment value, doing minimal interviews, yet with all the publicity and the need for an alternate 'verse he has cashed in a hefty ammount of money, surpassing even Bill Gates (as stated in the film) but Kable (Gerard Butler) is the main interest in either of the worlds, being the reigning champ of Slayers, he only needs to win a couple more games before he is set free so he can be reunited with his wife (who is a Society avatar) and daughter.

This is one film that I would recommend going to see at the cinema, the audio is amazing (fighting sounds, fist on skin etc) the graphics are outstanding, they seem to be using an effect that I have seen a long time ago on a design website and it was totally awesome then, totally awesome now!

oh and also, the computer systems used in the future (in this film) OUTSTANDING, if computers are going to be anything like that, I welcome them... - Beanbag, in the middle of an oval shaped room, with Virtual Interactive Windows! thats AMAZING...

I've waited so long, the first time I went to play it, I played...say about 5minutes, I went into the diner....pooped a little and turned it off, never playing it again - this was when it was first released on - the PS1 if I'm correct...

I may have to purchase the game and actually play it, just to get the full story, the film is awesome

Now, I had a dream lastnight, that made me wake up...with a HUGE grin on my face!
not many dreams do that, I actually wanted to force myself back to sleep but my body wouldnt allow it...

I'm sure you're all curious as to what my dream was about...

Love.

this love was, possibly the most powerful loving feeling I have ever felt...
even in reality I know I am loved by many people, friends, family, neighbours...but that sort of love you take for granted as its around you everyday.
but after waking up, I just felt loved

I'll explain the dream

It started out with me being back in Leeds (in my old house) and it was my 25th birthday and also, I got a promotion at work (YAY) I had all my family around, my grandparents (who aren't with us anymore...R.I.P) my friends, the neighbours...and my fiancé, my lovely mom brings out the cake and its amazing (she used to make special cakes for birthdays a few years ago - supermario cakes and nintendo cakes...they were amazing)
after I blew out the candles everyone cheered, wished me a happy birthday and everyone piled inside to carryon the celebrations, me and my fiancé (Sierra) tagging behind arm in arm, she pulls me to one side and asks if we can take a walk...I agree, I tell my family and friends I'll be gone for 10-20minutes and we both leave.
Whilst walking she turns to me and asks "Did you think about what I said earlier?" (I had no idea what she said, as the dream started from the Birthday) - I replied "sorry, I couldnt hear what you said earlier with all the people"... with that we both walk on together in silence...again she turns to me and says "we're having a baby!"

... *now I have to explain something, this was wierd the fact that I started a dream halfway through a narrative...crazy and somethings happening that I'm not sure about...anyway*...

I couldnt contain my happiness in the dream, so I grabbed her laughing and grinning ear to ear (both of us) and ran back home with her on my back to tell my family and friends the good news, we both enter the house and as we walk into the kitchen...theres a huge congratulations banner there, even more friends than before and everyone cheering and clapping...it was the most wonderful feeling ever... then

I woke up...

now, I only wish that this dream could be some form of reality for me...

East Coast Collective: Football Club Gig + Other Stuff

Its taken me a couple of days to get around to writing this blog, mainly because I'm closing in on my University Reassesment deadline and I've been doing the work :p

but yeah, I went to a gig on Friday with some friends of mine (Beth & Emma) £2 entry...for 4bands I think it was (was listed as 5bands but only 4went on) - it would have been £3 but a mate of Beths had a bunch of fliers, which knocked a quid off the entry price...which...you know credit crunch and all that... The bands that were playing, sweet man, loved the music, although one of the bands...not being funny but every song sounded the same, breakdowns in every song...and the guy sounded like a tool (lead singer of Laidback Legends...lead singer from Merseyside, putting on an awful American accent, then saying stuff like "When I say, Metal Haters, You Say... Fuck Dem Ye!"...why... sounded like a total chav prick)

gonna start off talking about my favorite band of the night, after spoiling through myself 2nights before, I went to Shadows Chasing Ghosts page, listened to their songs, and loved it, on the night, loved them...loved them so much, I parted with £10 stirling...for a t-shirt (yeah I know I could do my own whatever) spoke to the lead singer for about £10 about random stuff, and he was awesome, down to earth everything, found out hes from an area close to someone I know (Kiz)...anyway

yeah, their music, its sorta like...We are the Ocean...but harder - you should check out some of their stuff on youtube and myspace, you will no be dissapointed

secondly Forever and a Day... this is Beth's friend's band, I was actually suprised, back when I went to college in beverly I used to see the guy on the bus travelling the same route as me, same college...but I only ever talked to him once or twice, anyway, hes the bassist in this band and they are actually really cool...

Games

right, I know its a long-shot...but I really want to...someday goto E3...with an AAA pass, and do whatever the hell I want, just from playing video games and doing reviews, ever since listening/watching 4pp, it actually seems possible!
but Im not sure if its actually worth it...so... meh, put that dream in my "not gonna happen anytime soon box" (next to my favorite bag)

Assassins Creed

I have been playing an awful lot of Assassins Creed lately, after getting it in a rush (as I realised that I hadnt completed it yet) I fell in love with the game...yet, the first time I played it I got bored of it cause it was so repetative...
BUT
after going back to it and playing it again, I realised... yes, it is repetative, but who cares, it functions smooth and has some sweet graphics (the physics are a little boned but classic game)

anyways, I completed it (woohoo, 100G...for completing the game and another 50G for noticing some writing on the wall...that is probably the easiest 50G I ever got...just pressing Y and looking at a wall)
one thing I hate about the ending though...is the credits!!! - you cant skip them...you cant do...anything...its just like a 15minute credit roll....who wants to see that, its pointless...at least put a fastforward function in there or something! (ffs)

The reason I wanted to completed this game was because (as most of you know...) Assassins Creed 2 is coming out this November (North America on November 17, 2009 and in PAL regions on November 20, 2009)
and...imo you cant grasp the story of a sequal without actually finishing the first installment, its like watching Die Hard 2...without watching Die Hard .. WHO DOES THAT

anyway, Im anticipating the arrival of that game...and if I had the money at the moment, I would probably pre-order it like a bitch!

Batman Arkham Asylum: Demo

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD

This is a game I would gladly wait in line for, playing the Demo, they have done an absolutely amazing job, of making this game...BATMAN!
other games...nah, not even the movies (although admittedly the movies were cool)
This game hopefully if its like what the demo is all the way through, will be the best seller for a good 3/4weeks in my eyes


Combat

Batman combat, in the movies and the comics, show some brutal takedowns and some sweet beatdowns, this game captures everything to do with the violence portrayed in the novels, not so much the movies, as they weren't as violent as they should have been...

Inverted Takedown (basically an upside down grab...whilst hanging from a statue - SPOILER)
Batarangs

and In pure batman style, SLOW MOTION FINISHES!!!!


Cut-Scenes

With me personally, I can tell if a game is good within the first 20seconds (just from the cut-scenes)...this game, had my full attention, throughout all the cut-scene's...even on the 2nd time playing this game, I couldnt bring myself to skip the cut-scenes, it seemed, wrong... it would be pure evil...to skip the cut-scenes!

As soon...as I first saw the batmobile in the first cut-scene...I knew for a fact, this game was gonna be badarse (hopefully on the full release, you get to drive the batmobile...if not, still awesome) anyway I digress, the Demo...leaves you with quite possibly the greatest cliff-hanger ever


Environment

I am a very very picky gamer, most of the games I play involve awesome Environments...if the game has a sucky environment, poorly made blah blah blah, thats it...turned off, dont like it, luckily, Rocksteady Studio's, know what the hell they're doing!

Perfect, absolutely perfect, even when it comes down to the grates in the wall....grates on the floor, PURE GENIOUS!


Game Play

Overall the gameplay in the demo, left you wanting more (obviously cause its a demo) but yeah, awesome game, cant wait for it to be released :D

Awesome

I have actually had a pretty good day

I got up at about 10:30...11:00 somewhere around there, after snoozing my alarm (that went off at 8:45)
after getting up I walk downstairs, see my Aunt sitting on the sofa :D
huge smile - been a while since I've seen my Aunt and I always love seeing her, had a bit of a talk, then she had to go (my dad was taking her to pick up a Dog in Hull then take her back home...lovely dog)
when the house was empty (mum and brother went with them) I went and got my fender, brought it to the kitchen and jammed whilst eating some toast :D thats how its done

an hour flies by, and I was getting ready for the gym, stomach felt kinda iffy, must have been the sick licks I was belting out, but anyway got over there did about 20-30mins cardio/little bit of weights, felt really ill, so I came home, took a really long shower and had a shave....and a cup of Hot Chocolate :E
I started feeling better after having a little rest, think I need more sleep - afterall I didnt get to sleep till like 5 in the morning!

THEN, I booted up my xbox, played Guitar Hero: Smash Hits again :D - completed it twice...once on Bass, next on Guitar (after raging quiet a bit at Through the Fire and the Flames....I actually hate Dragonforce with a passion by the way... FU DRAGONFORCE, DO IT LIVE!)
yeah, got a few gamerpoints for that, I then had an amazing idea....guitar....AND MICROPHONE!
so I hooked up the Xbox Headset to the Controller, started playing - 4star'd like 5songs....man, I am such a badarse! (singing I love rock and roll....and Hit me with your best shot - with my window wide open... fml)

had food, was awesome, chicken curry + rice YEYEYE
came upstairs to sort out my ipod and clean up my room a bit, found an album I thought I had lost (Emergency - Pigeon Detectives....awesome album)

went to watch TV for a bit...
came back upstairs, sat down, started listening to the new 4pp Podcast, it is awesome
The Roach of Krondor
over 2hours long, probably the longest ever, so funny aswell ^^

I got an email from facebook saying I had a new friend request, from Jess Tullock - normally I dont accept randomers, but the second name...only 1 letter differance from Mine ... which funnily enough was why she added me, been talking to Jess for about an hour, and she is pretty cool - also, I got coaxed by Beth to go to the gig at the Brid Football Club on the 14th, dont really like the bands that are going, but...friends hangout :)

Today

Today, is the day I have fully dedicated to Uni work



first step is to - Remaster my Storyboard...so it doesnt look like a bunch of scribbles on paper (as shown on the right... that was done when I first thought of the idea...safe to say Im getting rid of it...going to burn it, in a fire...of hatred!)

I've already got to the 4th panel (I'm doing the panels, 1 per A4 sheet, the sheet is awesome its set out perfect)




My next step is to actually find someone to be the leading lady in my Anti-Advert, I did ask Amy if she could come over the Weekend just gone but she got stuck in some random place and said she was ill :( badtimes
so, I may have to call a few friends and pull some strings here and there, hopefully I wont have to change the script/storyboard completely...again - cause it just wouldnt feel right using a man instead of a women for this advert.

Then finally, I need to film it, which really does need to be done asap...as Im confused as to when the work needs to be in, its either...the 11th...12th or the 17th (i know huge jump right) hopefully its the latter, so I can get full optimal time to complete it...(please god let it the 17th!)

THEN!!!

I need to write an essay on how I found the project blah blah blah, how I made it blah blah blah blah, all that bollocks... then finished :D

My re-sit work for uni is meant to be handed in on the 17th of August I think it is...

fs, I know a few lasses who smoke...but they're all busy either working or on holiday, really really annoying...
changing the storyboard/script of the advert would totally change the feeling I am going for...
really need that main lead actor, I've already got a guy who's gonna help me out with the 2nd Character in the storyboard (not giving anything away yet)

but its just finding that MAIN F**KING CHARACTER!!!!

So......

So today, wasnt a very productive day

I got up at around 11:25... which wasnt what I was planning on doing
I said the night before I was going to get up early and sort myself out then go into town for a bit, never happened - I set my alarm for 9:25...snooze... badtimes :(

so after getting up I did the usual stuff, sorted myself out, had breakfast and such, then read the final pages of Neil Strauss' - The Game
and I must say...Fantastic book!
It is such an eye opener, not just for me but for many many people
I was speaking to my friend Josh about it the other day and its just amazing how a book can make 2people (who are kind of in the same situation) connect, I have to say probably the most I've spoken to him...like ever

Anyway, the main reason I got this book was because, I am totally useless when it comes to women, I mean, seriously I can talk to lasses dont get me wrong, but I dont necessarily know what to say most of the time, to either get the number-close or the kiss-close...so I thought that maybe its time for a change, its time to socially re-invent myself, and after reading this book, I found out it might be easier than I imagined...
I've found out that there are certain things to say and do, that will make you irresistable to the opposite sex, no matter how you look or how you dress
and its essential to bring your better qualities to the fore-front

I know its gonna take a while for me to crack my shy-ness when around strangers but, all in all it should be a really fun journey and a really good, life changing experience...

I have just started reading Neil Strauss' - The Rules of the Game
I'm on the first introductory pages and its not like most of the books I've read before - actually scrap that, its nothing like I've read before.

The first page has the Title: Read Me, in big Capitalised text...so instantly, you think, well its a book...I'll read it, do what it says, then as you read on, it totally throws you off saying your weak for allowing yourself to be ordered around like that...blah blah blah, at the end though Neil makes up for it by saying Bullying is the best way to get someones attention.
I think I am going to really enjoy this book - I will be reading it in conjunction with another book by Leil Lowndes - "How to Talk to Anyone" which should help me a lot.

Another thing I need to do is order some books I heard about in a Seminar lead my Neil Strauss, he talks about a book that teaches you to spot when people are lying to you..I am also wanting to take up a part-time/night course in Psychology - sorta give me that education boost :D

hmm, well I havnt really been listening to anything differant really, I've come across a few songs/bands/artists since my last blog that I think, like...wow seriously they're awesome to name a couple there is

Jonny Craig <- such an amazing solo artist (even better in a band) cant wait for his solo album to be released

Pierce the Veil <- that is my Ringtone/Message Tone =] Love that song soooo much Emarosa <- kinda old news to me now but thought you guys should listen to this song...Jonny Craig singing...his voice is AWESOME

Ethan Gibson <- covering the Emarosa song I posted above - really good acoustic cover, totally changed it and it sounds so cool

We The Kings <- been listening to this song quiet a bit over the past week, mainly in the shower on a morning - really wakes me up, such a cool catchy song

Bloc Party <- never really been into Bloc Party, but I heard this song on the NME music channel the other day, and it really stuck in my head
Spank Rock <- Spank Rock...legend all I have to say, listening to him for a while now, this video is awesome, they got models in, nothing was scripted, they just started having an orgy prettymuch, Amanda Blank, hot and cool!

Movies

I'm still waiting for my Masters of Horror Vol. 2 Box-set to come through the post, so I've not really watched anything new (that I havn't already talked about before - either in real life or on the internet)
but I did watch Chakushin ari (One Missed Call) lastnight for the 2nd time ever (I saw it first a number of years ago before the Hollywood remake came out) and I must say, still as creepy as ever and done by Takashi Miike, so insta-win right there

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I have probably talked to people about this film before (in person) and about how funny it is, I found the DVD of it lastnight in my room and watched it with my Parents, now this film...goes down in history as a funny film, the fact the guy bares his penis for a good 20/30 seconds throughout the film, and hugs 2, stunning Hollywood hotties whilst bareing it all! pure genius...plus Russell Brand, gotta love that guy, he just oozes cool-ness, if I stood close to him, I would most definately feel a little bit cooler than I do already =]

One of the funniest scenes in this film is the Yoga scene
"WHATS UP!"
"MY LEGS THATS WHAT!"
"IM DOIN A HEADSTAND MOTHERFUCKA!!!"
I laugh everytime I hear or see that scene.

other than that not really been watching many movies, although I did get Season 1 & 2 of the Mighty Boosh through the post the other day (already had Season 3)
been watching those most nights...
trying not to laugh loud at 2/3oclock in the morning is hard-work when you're watching the Boosh, trust me :P

Games

Mostly this week I've been playing Skate 2 - tbh, not much differant from Skate 1 at all...even a similar "city" - no reason to bring out a totally new game imo, could have just released an addon or something, pointless sequal...

I downloaded a number of games from the Xbox Marketplace (Doom, N+, Monkey Island & Castle Crashers)

gotta say Doom...still an amazing game, the whole game, legendary...

N+ makes me rage...total rage not just minor rage, lastnight I almost threw my controller at the wall I was that angry, all because I cant get past 1 f**king level!

Monkey Island, not a bad word to say about that game, always legendary!

Castle Crashers, possibly the funnest game I've played that looks like it should be for Kids only, but its not! its amazing!


Health

As most of you know, I gotto the gym quiet a bit, and have been trying to shift a bit of weight I'm still, shamefully carrying, after looking over my Diet, I have decided that I need to change it, so!

I have decided to carry around a water bottle with me, where-ever I go (similar to when I was on the Lipotrim Diet)
Stop snacking on a night (unless its a healthy option...like a rhye cracker or something)
Count my calorie intake
and Lower my portion size

I mean, I wasnt really having trouble before but, I want to see a change in my body faster and the only way to do that is to change the things that I know are conflicting with it (e.g. my diet) as I'm going to the gym, at the least 4times a week at the moment)

I've been using her corded ones for about 2weeks now and I think she was getting a little annoyed finding them in my room, so she said I can use the Cordless ones...not sure if its a permanent use thing, but I'm happy :D

It feels like its ages since I last blogged...

I havn't really been doing much since my last blog, ive changed my diet, refined my gym routine and started playing my consoles a bit more :D
and also came up with some nifty mug ideas (Custom L4D Mugs...if you wanna see leave a comment and I'll make a new post showing them off)

Now, lets talk games!
and specifically one game, Wanted: Weapon of Fate

so, I started playing this game a while ago and did it on Easy (as you do)...and it got really really boring after completing it...
anyway, I started playing it again yesterday after deciding to hardcore achievement whore the other week (xbox 360), after I'd say about 6hours play I completed the game on both Medium (Assassin) and Hard (Killer) aswell as getting the achievements for them, I got a number of other achievements along the way, apart from...2!

THE DREADED NUMBER FOR ANY ACHIEVEMENT WHORE!!!!

so, after raging over not being able to get the final TWO achievements, I turned off the console and played a "quick" game of L4D ... which turned into 4/5hours gameplay :$
(damn you Jonny and Laura!!!)
ANYWAY

I turned the game on again today determined to get those last achievements...

took me about an hour to get one
YAY! ONLY ONE LEFT

final achievement (this achievement was to collect all the hidden collectables)
I watched some youtube videos...really eager to get the damn achievement!
followed them to a T!
still havnt got it, because the game is glitchy and some of the collectables dont show up!
MAN RAGING HARD

but overall a good game, inserting a certain code in the menu enables you to play a Janice from the film, was LoL playing the whole game through as a whale!

anyway, gonna get started on a new game now

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood!!!!

I havn't played the first Call of Juarez but from what I've heard its an awesome game, anything with Cowboys...awesome, you know why...

started this game lastnight actually, really good game, had a showdown with the sheriff, he was all like
"Whats going on here!"
I was like...

!!!!MOVIE TIME!!!!

As most of you know, I'm a big fan of movies...if you didnt know that, then.. wtf... pretty sure you should!
so, I recently watched the Watchmen movie...
LOVED IT
for someone, to successfully make the transition (and yes I said successfully)
from graphic novel... to movie, just outstanding!
I know that there have been other movies that started off as comics/graphic novels, but there has been none that have really been this good before...

I know it isnt hard (from prior experiance) that setting up shots and angles from a previously created storyboard isnt hard, but this film really SHOWS you how its done!
FILM NOIR STYLE BITCH

Before watching this movie I'd been told by a few friends that it was really brutal, showing fingers getting broken, arms popping out, total bloodbath style, but I thought they were just over-exadurating...
not even, 3minutes into the movie, I was shocked... TOTAL MASSACRE! IT WAS AWESOME
a fight in The Comedians apartment, well I say fight, was a total crazed onslaught of pure power.
Brick walls got destroyed, tables, chairs, worktops (the granite kind) sinks...and reinforced windows! CRAZY MAN
still...
nothing beats good ol' Rorschach and his crazy crazy ways, from the Graphic Novel perspective you dont really connect well with Rorschach at all...
but in the Movie, you feel like you want him in your life, however crazed he is...just amazing, Jackie Earle Haley - great job!

Now moving onto some movies that not a lot of people are familiar with =D

Old Boy

Let me just start by saying, if you dont have a copy of old boy, fu!
everyone needs a copy of Oldboy, old, young, fat, skinny, dumb or smart! EVERYONE!

The Movie starts off with a man, holding another man over the edge of a building by his tie...now thats cool straight away! Life and Death... DEPENDING ON THE TIE!!! I jizzed a little... anyway

It then flashes back to an Overweight Oh Dae-su in a Police Station, after having a few to many Bevvies he got pulled in and was awaiting bail, this part...really made me giggle some of the things he did and said, amazing
after his mate comes and bails him out (which is also a bit funny as when Oh Dae-su leaves he says, "I will see you soon" LOL) he makes a phonecall to his daughter and wishes her happy birthday and tells her he will be home soon, he puts his mate on to wish he happy birthday blah blah blah, Oh Dae-su's wife wants to speak to him, his mate turns around to hand him the phone...Oh Dae-su is gone!
THE FUN STARTS!
Im not gonna say what happens next cause it will ruin all the story...well...not all but some of it so...BUY IT RENT IT...WHATEVER JUST WATCH OLDBOY!

From looking at the cover you expect it to be like some second rate Japanese Erotic film...its nothing of the sort!

I'll give you the begining of the film...
Starts of with the Father of the family, paying HIS daughter (a prostitute), for sex, whilst it is being filmed...
now...if that doesnt scream WTF then I dont know what does...
and the fact that after hes done, the Daughter laughs at him and calls him "The Early Bird" because he came too quick, now that must suck!

Anyway, film is by Takashi Miike - the legend who bright you the likes of Gozu, Ichi the Killer and Dead or Alive (all awesome films)

definatly worth a purchase!

Was a total Laze-fest

I woke up at 10, had my tablet and some food, chilled out downstairs for a bit...
thought to myself "Im gonna play some other games!"
went upstairs at like 12:25...put on Fable 2 (good game... you can kick chickens :D)
went for my tablet at 1:30...
played the game for a bit longer...
decided I would goto the gym at 2:15...
got off Fable 2 at 6:45...

Right...
So...

As most of you who have read my previous blog entry know
I spent 6/7 hours on the beach LAST monday...
and got sunburnt really bad...
and I mean really bad...
not as bad as some unlucky soul I talked about with my doctor, but bad enough that I now have a skin infection...
FFS!

I got up yesterday and noticed that the skin just above my shin was kind-of Orangey.... :/ thought nothing of it, then it peeled and it was really vibrant orange/red looking thing, really wierd, again thought nothing of it...
showed my dad this morning, he got my mum to phone the doctor straight away and get an emergancy appointment!
4oclock rolled around, I plodding over to the surgery (Manor House, YE) and went in, saw my Dr and he prescribed, get this... a heavy dose of some drug I have never even heard of before, so now im on 4pills a day and am not allowed to go out drinking.. FML

so, Im gonna confine myself to the Gym....and my Xbox/PS3/PC...
probs wont CS game, cause drugged up but...meh

First Blog of June

Well, Hi there!

I havnt updated my blog in what seems an eternity... I think the novelty wore off a little bit :P
but yeah im back now, gonna keep you up to date with all my crazy summer madness, which probably wont be that mad, BUT STILL

I got a new Camcorder
well, I say new...its actually my first ever camcorder :D
and its SICK!

Enova 1080p HD Camcorder

saw it online, for cheap, ordered, must have got like the last one, cause I checked later the same night and they were all sold out :D
YAY, got it through the day after, made a few videos and took it with me a few places
(Hull Tattoo Convention) and did some University work with it, which the slag said didnt fit with the criterea....which it did :/ in my eyes anyway - she also didnt grasp the concept...personally I think she hates me, oh well!

yeah, I took the camcorder to the Hull Tattoo convention - which was EPIC, got some cool ideas for my sleeve design, which i've been designing for god knows how long :p

I've also finished University now, for - around about 3/4months :D which is pretty cool
im trying to find something to do with my day now, other than focus on work/uni...its hard, I spend most of my day sitting on my backside watching movies...or going to the gym

and the gym, I've had to put it on a backseat for a bit, because on Monday (like a spack-tard) I went on the beach with Amy (^_^) for 6/7hours....without sunscreen... yeah, badtimes!

I am seriously...like a lobster, well...obviously its getting better now, but it was shocking how bad I was burnt, will teach me :P

also, Oli came down after a few hours just to chill which was cool, to say he hates sand :D

oh man, Amy and me, laid there on the beach, relaxing in the sun, SOAKING IT UP, some old guy 2meters away...farted...like not a little on, a total mega fart... oh god, for some reason, we both found it hillarious...
other than that, I hate old people...

Also to add...
I've been following some of the things that are being shown/taking place at E3 this year...and I must say, I AM REALLY REALLY IMPRESSED!

First of all, the show stopper!

• Project Natal - this will blow, every other console/product out of the water! its like, the next step in AI technology its amazing.
• Left 4 Dead 2 - now, lets be fair, it looks exactly like the lastgame, just with new models and sounds...and a few new weapons and differant maps, Im not very pleased with the overall look of this game, but the gameplay looks to be fun - what with the incorperation of handheld objects (e.g. chainsaw)
• God of War III - I have been a big fan of every God of War game, and have played every one...and seeing this Teaser Gameplay at E3 I was close to jizzing...actually no, I did jizz...I cant wait to be playing this

Thankfully I get the best of both worlds as I have the consoles needed for these lovely new creations :D

Also without being at university I have also been reading a hell of a lot more, ive recently completed the whole Twilight Saga, for the 9th time... yes... love that book :D
I ordered some Charlie Bronson books from amazon the other day, after watching the movie...hes always been a man that I have wondered about, having heard his name been thrown about in the news and such, I decided to take the right action and find out first hand about his experiences...and what better way than to purchase his books (writen by himself ofcourse)..
I am currently 5pages into his Auto-Biography (titled Bronson) and I am loving it...he's already telling me about a hostage situation, in vivid detail... I LOVE IT!

Anyway, its late...im tired and I'm having to get up tomorow to look at buying a car

well....its been a while..

i've kinda been busy doing other things ... with my social life...

but, I just so happen to have a spare £10 in my bank, so I may have to pay a visit to some old college friends in the coming weeks :D get my arse out of the house ffs, boring been cooped up all the time, I only seem to leave the house really for the gym...

I FOCKING LOVE ILLUSTRATOR!!!!!!

Im having to use illustrator part of my university work...and I must say, probably the best design program ever created, i've done previous work on illustrator before, but nothing on a big scale (I used to...and still do small t-shirt designs in it)

but part of the university subjects is to create a fully vectored Self Portrait!

This is one of the most recent designs that i've come up with, includes my personality (Proud), and some of my most favorite things

Flying Thing = God of Death (Ryuk) from Death Note
Ribbon = Taken from the 3rd book of the Twilight Saga (Eclipse -my favorite of the whole saga)
Forest Skyline = I love the outdoors :E

I am thinking this is a real competitor for the final piece that I actually hand in, but like ive said, with all the freedom you start asking youself questions...and one of the questions was - "Should I put something in the bottom right corner?"

so, I took that thought onboard and placed something of my interest in more than one way in the corner :D

As you can probably tell...

That in the bottom corner, is a woman...getting undressed - I can admit to liking that!

This is relevant because - The actual image of the woman, is taken from an album that I put in my top10 albums of all time (that are on my ipod) - which is "Cute Is What We Aim For - The Same Old Blood Rush with a New Touch"

and obviously...because I like woman...getting....naked... yeah

but having put this in the bottom corner, I thought the image as a whole looked a little crowded (DAMN YOU CREATIVE FREEDOM!)

and now, here I am...making a blog about the work i've done thus far....and ultimatly not having a clue which piece to present - the logical choice would be to show the lecturer both and get his opinion!
so thats probably what im gonna do :P

so...heres the story

walked out of the gym, saw a group of chavs hanging around (not anything special really, its Bridlington afterall, land of the Chavs) anyways, group of chavs hanging around...

the smallest one comes up to me, must have been about 12year old, says something I could barely understand - sounded something like this


"Errrr Meeert Ya Gert Twente Pee Fort Bus?"


what with my keen sense of lingual skills I managed to translate it to...


"Well now, Good Sir, Do you happen to have a Spare 20pence upon your person, as If I dont get 20pence I will not be able to acquire my bus ticket"


after my brain decyphered that....I went through the thought process of wondering how many people he asked, oh yeah - I told him no, and to piss off...

but lets say he asked... 5people every hour, and hes outside from 11am - till 7pm
that would be 40people hes asked
and if those 40people, had actually given him the 20p he "required"

he would have a profit of £8, just from uttering a simple sentence

which is enough for, 2big bottles of white lightening and a pack of cigs (according to the Tesco's website - and the shop down the road)




anyway, what im trying to say is, I hate chavs...

simple - I just hate them
pure scum..

to be fair, you do get some pretty decent chavs, who dont talk like pricks and listen to bad music... but are they really socially considered chavs?

Body Plan - 2009

As most people know I love going to the gym, working out and just generally chilling when im over there (by chilling I mean listening to my iPod or reading a book on the bikes)

I started the gym about 6/7weeks ago now - and have noticed a slight improvement in my fitness, my eating and ofcourse my body :) (I now have pecs and a 6pack...be what it may, its under a bit of fat, but still - ITS THERE :p )

anyway, this is my general body plan for 2009 (what I want my body to be like for summer ... I know for afact I can achieve it, what with me already sticking to a strict diet of water...which I lost 5stone on thank you very much) - there will be pictures of me included (all my hotness)

so, the plan for this year - is to lower my bodyfat, while at the same time gaining BMI (losing fat, gaining muscle...and burning off unwanted calories) as of date, since I started at the gym, I have lost 1% bodyfat and gained weight (not sure how much)

the picture on the right shows what I shall look like - at around summer time, if I stick to a hardcore regime (like the one I am on atm) and dont pussy out with the weights/cardio ^_^

Now, I could go with the look shown to the right (which looks really athletic aswell as strong)


OR

I could go with a look which just yells out mantastic (and some may say OTT...i think personally it is a bit OTT myself but meh...to show - I shall post a picture of results that have been carefully processed and scientifically put to the test! )


These are said results - as you can see the computer, cross examined my body with arnold's body...giving a seemless picture - that just screams "DO ME"


personally, I dont really like this look, it seems a bit too - steroids....for me

but im still not sure what I want to do, its gonna be doing my headin for the rest of the year probably...

hopefully i'll just get to what I want (even though I dont know what I want yet....if that makes any sense at all)

just gonna chat a little bit about my camera :-)

to start off I bought it for fairly cheap .. not gonna say the price, because it was shockingly cheap :P

Now this camera, hasnt really ever been used before, my dad bought it a while ago cause, lets face it, its a really nice camera - specially with all the cool little features on it, anyways, he bought it and it was sat in his room, collecting dust (like a million and one other things) so I coaxed him into letting me buy it, for a ... reasonable - ish... price :) and its been used quite a bit more (most of my blogged and facebooked pictures are actually taken with it, and the picture quality is perfect. (the fashion pictures in the previous blog post were taken using this camera)

I have yet to give it some serious intense use, but as for everything, I will do soon, lol...

im planning on carrying it with me where-ever I go, to snap photos for my uni projects and just for fun, theres so much nice scenery going to and from uni on monday mornings, so...you know I could be the wierd guy on the back of the bus with the camera sticking out of the window :P (always wanted to be that guy!) - all this was recently brought to the surface after a run-in with a recently mentioned camera (the crappy 4mp one I used - badtimes)

anyway :P

I LOVE SHOES - thats possibly gonna make me sound a little gay, but oh well, my blog...

I just recently purchased some Chucks (Chuck Taylors....aka. Converse All Stars) for summer, but decided to wear them beforehand, cause they are so awesome!

I actually ordered the wrong sort off of Amazon - I was looking for the Chucks that had the converse logo on the side and wasnt really paying attention when clicking ... as always ¬_¬

but I still love my sneakers ^_^ they make me feel all warm inside...

they set me back £25 - from amazon (in a special offer)

anyway, moving on

just before purchasing my converse, I bought myself some DC skate shoes (no I dont skate, they just look epic!) again, I bought these solely for the Summer (when I can strole down to the beach, wearing nothing but my shorts! BUFF)

They have been sitting in my wardrobe waiting for actions for about 2, maybe 3, months now - not getting out untill the summer hits (or just the boiling weather)

they cost me £40 from the Extreme clothes shop in Bridlington - really cheap for a really nice looking pair of shoes :D, so gonna be worth the money.



Tshirts!

I am a huge Tshirt lover - just check my bank statement (probably shows how often i'm in NewLook aswell :$ )

any t-shirt that tickles my fancy gets a purchase, depending on the price - if a shirt is about £15 i'll probably have to think about buying it, if its below, say... £8 im definatly gonna buy it

I've recently got into buying Band t-shirts (3 Paramore + 1 Fallout Boy, at the moment) my list of wanted t-shirts is prettymuch endless - the shirt pictured on the left, if probably one of my better paramore t-shirts, I have this aswell as the Riot album t-shirt - and the Splash Pyramid t-shirt...

Today - 17/03/09

So....

Today, was actually a hell of a lot of fun! :D

got to uni about 10minutes earlier than normal (thumbs up)
although everyone had to wait for a while outside the room while some randomer was located
bit of banter thrown back and forth whilst we waited

got into the room, nobody had a clue what today was about - people were saying photoshoot, photoshop ARGH!!!!

Photoshoot - Im not photogenic at all! everytime I get a photograph taken, I always appear to have a lazy eye...or just look stoned out of my face - its kind of offputting...

Photoshop - I couldnt really be bothered, its a good program but its like .. :/ meh

but, through it all, it was really fun - everyone had a laugh...loads of people felt akward, it was like a group bonding session......where people had no clue what to do or where people just acted like dicks - lol loved it

the only thing that was really poor, were the cameras......4mega-pixel cameras....¬_¬ *sigh* thats like taking it back to the late 1990's - it took so long for the camera to actually take the photos, it shows where the funding goes for universities ... ... yeah...



oh well, still a great day, got to have a laugh with people - and I got a couple of hugs :D :D :D

Death Note 2 (The Last Name )

so, following on from my last blog update

I've just watched Death Note 2 (aka. The Last Name) and I am now, a Death Note fanatic, gonna buy the anime's and buy the notebook (just as a bit of, you know, collectors...stuff...)

Anyway, after watching the first movie, I thought it would be really hard to compete with, but I was proven wrong - within the first 20minutes ... everything.. was perfect!

I mean

Misa .. HOT!
L .. Legend!
Ryuk .. SICK!
Rem .. I Want :(
Light .. Cool Kid

everything that was in the first movie, was in the second movie topped off with even more awesomeness - I mean... 2 DEATHNOTES! and Multiple Kira's! come on!

I would seriously recommend that people purchase these movies ASAP, they are probably the best Jap movies out there to date - trust me

Now I cant wait to watch: L: Change the World


seriously L, possibly the coolest guy ever... constantly eating chocolate/sweets, not sitting on chairs as everyday people would, and being super smart - aswell as having awesome hair

I would love to be L




my next journey is to find some Japanese clothes retailers in the UK (places that do stuff like, 100% cloth longsleeved t-shirts - snug fit)

Greatest Live-Action Japanese Film - Death Note

Just finished watching the Death Note film, must say... AMAZING!

I had never heard of it before the other night (although I had heard of the manga series from a friend of mine) but I saw the first 25minutes of the first film on Film 4 (Thursday Night)

I am hooked, as of now it is possibly the greatest sub-titled film I have seen to date...not only that, Japanese Girls are hot! and I want hair like the Japanese Guys :(

Im so hooked in fact, I may have to purchase a Death Note: notepad :$ - yeah its gone THAT far.. sorry to say :p


Basic Plot:

The series is about Light Yagami, a young man who resents the crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a drastic change when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a person's name is written within it while picturing that person's face, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the notebook's authenticity, but after experimenting with it, he realizes that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the New World" by passing his judgement on those he deems to be evil or who get in his way.

Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the word "killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.


My Verdict

It is just amazing, okay the acting is a little bit ... obvious like most foreign films, but it is still totally epic, I would recommend it to anybody with an interest in film!
